Our Role in the Environmental Commodity Market

A pathway for peace, biodiversity, and climate resilience

The Kivu–Kinshasa Green Corridor is a landmark initiative linking the eastern forests of the DRC to the heart of the Congo Basin and onward to Kinshasa. Spanning over 500,000 km², the corridor restores ecological connectivity, fosters peace, and catalyzes an inclusive green economy built on conservation, local governance, and innovation.

Designed as a mechanism for sustainable development and regional stability, the Green Corridor combines the protection of primary forests, peatlands, and mangroves with the creation of sustainable livelihoods for local communities. It embodies a model of coexistence between nature and development, where ecosystem value becomes the foundation of shared and regenerative prosperity.

A Framework for International Cooperation

Through our consortium approach, the Green Corridor provides a structured framework for international cooperation under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Projects developed along the corridor, from peatland conservation and reforestation to agroecology and renewable energy , generate high-integrity carbon assets.

These projects are certified, transparent, and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), enabling institutional investors and partner countries to contribute to carbon neutrality while empowering the communities of the Congo Basin.

Inclusive and transparent governance

The Green Corridor’s governance is rooted in Community Forest Concessions (CFCLs) and the FPIC principle (Free, Prior and Informed Consent).

Each project is co-created with local populations, traditional authorities, and scientific partners, ensuring a fair, traceable, and verifiable approach to climate finance.

Inclusive and transparent governance

Contributing at our scale

We contribute at our scale to this shared vision of a regenerative future for the Congo Basin. By linking peace, biodiversity, and financial innovation, the Green Corridor stands among Africa’s most ambitious environmental cooperation models.

Through this collective effort, we mobilize capital, strengthen transparency, and transform the ecological potential of the Congo Basin into sustainable climate assets.
